Our new Shin.  We have a new Shin prominently on display above the Ten Commandments in the Sanctuary.  Shin stands for the first Hebrew name of God as it appears in the Torah, Shadai, and is attributed to Abraham.  The Hebrew term, Shadai, means “Almighty.”  The same letter is placed on the outer case of every mezuzah, which adorns the doorposts of Jewish homes  Our shin symbolizes the presence of God in our Sanctuary and in our lives..

Given by Bernie Liebowitz in honor of Helen Schneeberg.
