PreSchool Teaching Staff

 

Jill Levine has been a part of KI's teaching staff for over 25 years.. Her twins were graduates of KI preschool and continued through Confirmation. KI religious school is also fortunate enough to have Jill teaching their Kindergarten program on Sunday mornings. To Jill KI is her second home!

 

 

 

 

 

 


Michele Chelder works with our very active three year olds in Prachim. She is a proud parent of two KI preschool students. Her family loves to spend time together during Shabbat, vacations, camping and swimming. Plus Michele is a great cook and always bringing in some delicious treat.

 

 

 

Merryl Bender works in our aftercare program. She started at KI in 1997 and has two daughters that went to our Religious School. Her youngest daughter also works at our summer camp.Merryl has also worked with the three year olds but assisted in starting and developing the amazing Infant Center we have today.

 

 

 

 

 

Dee Weiner works in our Infant Center and loves to work with our youngest group.She loves to keep busy through, exercising, going for long walks and enjoying nice restaurants.She has two grandchildren that she also loves visiting in Seattle.

 

 

 

Ethyl Treatman-Burns works with our very busy little toddlers in Shorashim. Her own daughter is a graduate from KI Preschool. Ethly has been a member since 2002 and she loves playing piano, singing in the choir and  playing any type of early childhood music. Many times Ethly will lead us in songs during the holidays, Shabbat and Havdallah.

 

 

 

 

 

Fanny Chodosh works with our wonderful two's class Prachim. She has worked with our two year olds for eight years and loves to sing, dance, cook and paint almost anything with them. She has three children and loves to exercise and spend time visiting her family in Israel.

 

 

 

Rhea Dennis. Rhea has been a member of KI since she was in the third grade and was even married here! Her three children are also graduates of KI Preschool. Rhea besides being a wonderful teacher is a professional artist. She also teaches our amzing art enrichment program.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Norda Lewis works in theToddler Class. Norda loves dancing, helping people, reading the Bible and taking pictures

 

 

 

 

Cindy Goodman not only takes care of our precious little babies but she is a parent of one of our Pre K students. Cindy was an asset when developing and starting our Infant Center. Cindy enjoys spending time with her family while shopping, reading, coloring and playing. When you see Cindy you will always find a little one crawling behind.

 

  

Miriam Buchsbaum  works with our Pre K class and is always reminded how precious it is to have the pleasure of loving children and helping them grow. My children are ages 27 and 22  and I am so proud of the adults they've become.  I have a Master's Degree in Social Work but my best credential is my children!

 

 

Joan Zinberg has an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been teaching at KI for the last eight years. She has two grown daughters and has been married for 25 years. She loves working with nursery school age children especially the two year olds.She also loves to exercise, gardening and music.

 


Amy Kieserman
is the lead teacher in our Pre K Tzipporim class.  She loves working with these "big" kids and and getting them ready for Kindergarten.  She has two young children of her own who both attend KI Religious School. She loves to exercise, read and spend time with her family. She is so excited to be a part of KI Preschool

 

Sonia Mosquera: I grew up in Cuenca, Ecuador and I love to go home and visit my family. I have a wonderful 16 year old daughter and have been living in Philadelphia for 16 years. I like to read, spend time with my daughter,cook, and learn about early childhood education. I have been working with young children for 4 years and I love it!! 

 

Hello,  I am Stacey Wiesner and I love co-teaching with Norda Lewis.  I am a mom of two children (14 & 22 years old) and so fortunate to be here at K.I. for three years, including almost two in religious school.  I have been a teacher of many different ages and many different subjects for what is now - my 30th year - and have truly enjoyed every one of them!

 

 

Audeth Williams: I have been teaching at KI for the last three years and I adore working with the infants and toddlers. I love working with the children, they're so precious and adorable and such a joy to be around plus they always keep me laughing. I enjoy cooking for my family, love shoe shopping, and being with my friends.

 

 

Lauren Zlotnick     is a 2011 graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Studies. She loves working with children and has worked at Camp Shemesh for many years now. She also has been a member of KI since she was 11 years old and Bat Mitzvahed and Confirmed here. Lauren is very excited to start a new chapter at KI as a teacher!  

 

Owa Zaga -was born and raised in Israel and for the last 10 years I has been working with children of all different ages. She has been teaching Hebrew at KI’s religious school for the last 4 years. Both of her boys graduated from KI’s preschool and now her daughter attends KI. Owa's background is singing and dancing and she is a certified Yoga teacher for the last 9 years and two years ago specialized in Yoga for children. She loves being around children and teaching through play!




Loru Saruya
- has been a member of KI all of her life. She even attended preschool at KI. She is married to Avi Saruya for 24 years whom she met in Israel. They have two sons, Jason, 18, and Adam, 16. Both boys were Bar Mitzvahed and Confirmed at KI.  Lori’s heart belongs to KI and is so happy to be working with the preschool children

 

 

 

Michael Cohen- This is his first year at KI, however, third year teaching preschool.  He has an American History degree from Towson University and is  in the process of obtaining a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern University.  Along with teaching, Micheal coaches High School Soccer and Basketball at Abington Friends School and work as an Assistant Division Leader at Pine Forest Camp during the summer
