Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel (KI), established in 1847, is the Philadelphia area’s first Reform congregation.  For more than 150 years, under the leadership of a long line of respected and inspiring rabbis, KI has evolved into a synagogue that is characterized by innovation, a strong sense of community and a commitment to spiritual and intellectual growth.  KI’s approach has always been to focus on the joys, values and traditions of Jewish heritage and to provide a warm and welcoming environment to all who seek to be part of its congregation.  Located in Elkins Park, KI is pleased to provide additional services to the residents of northern Montgomery County with the opening of its KI Blue Bell Campus in 2005.

An Invitation to Join KI Blue Bell Campus

We invite you to join us at this exciting time as we shape the future of KI’s Blue Bell Campus.  While KI’s newest site embraces the KI philosophy, we anticipate our future will be strongly influenced by the input and direction of our congregants.  The future is in your hands.

In addition to the services provided at KI’s Elkins Park campus, KI Blue Bell campus offers:

Religious School Classes

    * Religious school classes that are child centered and balance both tradition and innovation. Instructors are committed to fostering the spirituality and intellect in every child.  KI also emphasizes fun and social responsibility with its active youth and teen programs.

    * A warm and welcoming congregation and a comfortable atmosphere for non traditional and interfaith families.

    * Classes are held once a week for grades K-2 and twice a week for grades 3-6.

Shabbat Services

KI Blue Bell campus seeks to enhance your connection with other Jews and your personal search for meaning with creative, musical, and participatory prayer. The Blue Bell campus hosts monthly Shabbat dinners and services with exciting themes like “Tie-Dye Shabbat”, “Shabbat on the Farm”, and “Breakfast for Dinner.”  Come with your family or come by yourself – when you are here you are a part of our family.  Our monthly Shabbat service is a great way to strengthen your ties to our community.

Quality Programming

KI-Blue Bell campus offers programs designed to build community and Jewish identity.  Family programs, musical concerts, adult education seminars, and social action opportunities allow our congregants to connect and find meaning within KI.  This year we are even planning a special Sukkot Farmers Market!

An Exciting, Warm Place to Worship

When you join KI-Blue Bell campus, you get the best of both worlds-the excitement of being part of a smaller, more intimate congregation and the resources of a larger, well-established synagogue.  Blue Bell Campus members can enjoy all of KI’s religious, cultural and social events at both campuses, Myers Library and the Rosenfeld Computer Center.
