Dear KI Families,
My name is Elyse Herman, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as KI’s Engagement Coordinator. Whether you are new to our congregation or have been part of the KI family for many years, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome.
I have been part of the Keneseth Israel community for the past 17 years. My husband, Brett, and I have two children, Zoey and Jack, as well as two lovable dogs who keep life fun and busy. Our family’s journey at KI began when our children attended KI Preschool and has continued through JQuest Religious School, worship, holiday celebrations, volunteer opportunities, and countless community events. Over the years, KI has become much more than a synagogue to us, it has become our second home.
Along the way, we have celebrated joyful milestones, found support during life’s challenges, and built lasting friendships with people of all ages and backgrounds. Those experiences have shaped our family’s Jewish journey, and I hope every person who walks through KI’s doors feels that same sense of connection, belonging, and community.
As Engagement Coordinator, my goal is to help strengthen those connections throughout our congregation. Whether you’re interested in meeting new people, learning about upcoming programs and events, finding volunteer opportunities, participating in worship or lifelong learning, or simply discovering new ways to become involved, I am here to help you navigate all that KI has to offer.
Every member’s journey is unique, and I would love the opportunity to get to know you and your family. Please don’t hesitate to introduce yourself, reach out with questions, or share your ideas. I am always happy to help connect you with people, programs, and opportunities that align with your interests.
