Karen Shain Schloss, TJM Chair, is our guest host for this session of music from the Temple Judea museum’s wonderful music collection. Karen will share the music of the master of Jewish folk songs, Theodore Bikel. Karen grew up with recordings of Bikel’s singing in her home and she will share her musical favorites with us. Karen is an artist; a Calligrapher of Hebrew and English letters, an Illustrator and Graphic Designer. Primarily she does Judaic Papercutting for ketubot (marriage contracts) or other varied synagogue commissions. She’s a lifelong member of the Philadelphia Calligraphers Society, a Papercutters, and a member of the American Guild of Judaic Artists. Karen is a founding member of the Guild of American Papercutters.
