Underneath every Jewish humorous story is an underlying seriousness. Jewish humor mocks everything, yet at the same time affirms tradition and helps us understand the difference between the holy and the profane.
Rabbi Richard Steinbrink is the past President of the National Association of Retired Reform Rabbis and the Delaware Valley Association of Reform Rabbis. He has served congregations in Philadephia (Rodeph Shalom); Newburgh, NY; St. Louis, MO; and Red Bank, NJ. He served for 21 years as part-time Chaplain at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. He lives in Center City with his wife, Diane.
