In memory of Ethel and Oscar Malmud, Haochen will be a featured soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra during the upcoming 2023-2024 season. KI is so very proud of the role that our Music Arts has played in his career, beginning from right before the Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009 all the way through his current success and international fame. Since his gold medal win at the Thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Haochen Zhang has captivated audiences in the United States, Europe, and Asia with a unique combination of deep musical sensitivity, fearless imagination, and spectacular virtuosity. In 2017, Haochen received the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes talented musicians with the potential for a major career in music. Since then, he has continued to achieve and exceed that potential. Haochen’s 2022 recording of all five Beethoven Piano Concerti with the Philadelphia Orchestra has already received critical raves and it will be available for purchase at this recital.
