Linda Nesvisky: POSTCARDS FROM THE OLD CITY: AN ELEGY
Jerusalem, 1974 - 1991

DESCRIPTION: Linda resided in the Old City of Jerusalem during the rebirth of its Jewish Quarter.  Residents expelled in 1948 were returning to live in renovated historical homes and archeologists were uncovering history as far back as the Bronze Age. Artists and writers were attracted to the Jewish Quarter, as well, for the exotic setting: the massive walls and gates, the human tapestry of its residents. Artists, writers, the religious and the secular, lived in harmony.
