Moral Compass

Sterling Silver, Copper, 18K Gold, Peridot, Carnelian

Most people are born with a Moral Compass, an internal mechanism calibrated to help us determine right from wrong. Theoretically, the ideal reading for the compass is to have its needle pointing Due North. Unless you are Mother Theresa or the Dalai Lama — Due North is nearly impossible to reach. Be that as it may, a lot of us still try to live as righteous a life as possible. We try to help make this world a better place.

Being patient and thoughtful isn’t all that easy — but we still try!  2020 was not an easy year. It was the year that my Moral Compass was tested … big time. Like everybody else we were quarantined with little chance of external social interaction. We watched a lot of television and became witness to political and social issues that might not normally cross our “line of sight”.

My Moral Compass needle has been spinning like crazy!

It’s impossible to not form an opinion based upon what is happening in our Universe. Almost everybody that I know is concerned and like-minded. They too have a Moral Compass that reads similarly. If we stick with what we know is right, and with the help of time and each other — things should eventually start to even out.

Check your Moral Compass daily. Try to get as close to Due North as possible.
