Camp Harlam Congregational Update ~ September 2023

View in Browser

Dear Congregational Partners,

We hope you are enjoying a very happy, healthy, and sweet start to the new year. As always, we are grateful for your partnership and support. We wanted to follow up on our e-mail from the end of the summer with some reminders and updates.

Camp Registration
Registration for Summer 2024 is open and we already have close to 500 campers enrolled. Please share the graphic attached and refer your families to our Dates/Rates page to learn more about summer program offerings – including Intro Experience, 3 ½ and 7-week programs – and to register.

Enrollment is now open at Harlam.org!
Consecration Program
We are excited to provide your consecration students with a certificate that includes a tuition credit towards their first summer at Harlam. At this link, you can find a document that includes the following:

  • Instructions on the certificate process (it’s changed – please read)
  • A blank copy of the 5784 Consecration certificate
  • A sample letter to be edited/shared with families

Fall Taste of Camp (October 14-15)
This program is currently on a wait list.
If you have a family who is interested (open to kids in grades 2-4), please ask them to visit our site to join the waitlist and find more information about other introductory experiences.Fall Fest
We are holding our 2nd Annual Fall Fest at camp on October 22nd! Fall Fest is a community-wide event for current and future camp families, Harlam alumni, and friends of camp. This open-house program will include tours, camp activities, food options (lunch and canteen), and more. Register here!

Camp Liaison
Each congregation in the region has been assigned a relationship manager on our year-round team to both look back (ex. enrollment trends, summer successes and challenges) and look ahead towards planning for the upcoming year (ex. congregational visits, virtual programming, pipeline building, parent ambassadors). You can expect to hear from this person in the coming weeks.Off-Season Rentals & Retreats
Camp Harlam is available to host events between late September and the end of May. Are you planning a staff retreat or a young family program? Allow us the opportunity to serve your congregation; we can customize your event to meet your specific goals. If you haven’t had the chance to visit camp, you should know that Camp Harlam is nestled in the beautiful Pocono mountains, about two hours away from Philadelphia and NYC. We have winterized facilities, a variety of meeting spaces, on-camp lodging, and more. You can learn more about all that Harlam has to offer on our website. For more information, contact Amy Kagan, Associate Director, at  AKagan@urj.org.

Faculty Applications
Summer faculty are central to creating a positive and meaningful Jewish experience for our camp community by supporting campers, CITs, and staff. For those interested in serving in a faculty role next summer, the application will be available in October. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Ellie Tepper Schulman, Associate Director, at ETepper@urj.org or 610-668-0423.

Want to hear from us?
To ensure that camp communications are getting to the appropriate people at your congregation, please update your contact information in the marketplace at this link and encourage anyone else who would like to get our communications to do the same. If you need help doing this, contact the Knowledge Network by emailing URJ1800@urj.org . They will send an outward facing link for congregations to update information.

Thank you and Think Camp!

Rachel
