“How Did Various Communities Vote and Why, Including Jews, African Americans, Latinos, White Women, and Probably a Few Others”

Burt Siegel was the Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater until 2008 when he timed his retirement to work on the Obama campaign. For 18 years he was a member of the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations and served as that body’s Vice Chair for 10 of those years.He was a co-founder of the now defunct Black-Jewish Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and served on the Advisory Board of the political arm of Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity. He served two terms as the President of the National Association of Jewish Community Relations Professionals. He led two missions to Israel for Black Community Leaders. Burt has taught classes on Black Jewish Relations in Atlanta and Philadelphia and has been a guest lecturer on Black-Jewish relations at several historically Black colleges and universities.  He has written extensively on that subject for over close to 50 years. He is a co-founder of and currently the Vice Chair of the Democratic Jewish Outreach of PA, a federally authorized PAC.
