Title: Jews & Music for Social Change (Part 1: early 1900s to the 1960s)

Description:  Jews have made significant contributions to the music of social change, from the Labor and Civil Rights movements up to the present day, in a wide variety of musical genres including folk, classical, musical theater, rock, pop, jazz, and more.  We will explore this rich history using both recorded examples and live musical performances.

David & Jenny Heitler-Klevans are full-time musicians, performing and recording as Two of a Kind (children’s/family music as well as folk/singer-songwriter material for adults), and in the alternative folk quartet, Acoustic Blender.  David also teaches adult continuing education music appreciation/history classes at Cheltenham Township Adult School and Temple University Ambler.  David & Jenny live in Cheltenham, PA.
