Save the Date: September 23 at 1PM for the Meyers Library Adult Book Discussion of The Third Daughter by Talia Carner

We will have our next Adult Book Discussion Group on Wednesday September 23 at 1 pm.  We will once again meet on Zoom. We will discuss The Third Daughter by Talia Carner. This work of historical fiction is set in the late nineteenth century. It is the little known story of a Jewish run syndicate that kidnaps young women from Eastern Europe and sells them as prostitutes in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Batya is a daughter of a struggling Russian milkman. Her family’s existence is uncertain. A smooth-talking and debonair man from “America” promises to marry her when she turns 16. Unfortunately, nothing is as he promised. Three copies of this title are available in the Meyers Library.
