YIDDISH: Beginning in the early 1880s, over two million Jews immigrated to America. They brought their culture (Yiddishkeit) and language (Yiddish) with them. Although eager to Americanize, dozens of Yiddish words were retained by the second generation and beyond.  Dozens of these terms became part of American English. What Yiddish words do you know? Which terms were retained by your children and grandchildren? Come to learn and share about Yiddish in America and the emergence of Yinglish!
