The Meyers Library of KI, located on the second floor of the synagogue, is one of the finest synagogue libraries in the tristate area.  With over 11,000 volumes and movies, the library offers everything from Jewish history resources and cookbooks to a wealth of Torah commentaries and books on Israel.  The Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center’s esteemed Yaakov Riz book collection is now housed within the Meyers Library.  Additionally, we feature some of the most popular titles in fiction and nonfiction.  

Our new children’s library, nestled in the Arts Alive Gallery next to the main library, is stocked with more than 600 children’s books.  Selections include Jewish holiday board books for preschoolers, young adult novels and Jewish biographies for young readers.

Membership at KI includes full use of the library facilities; books can be checked out for two weeks at a time.  We invite you to come browse and borrow books whenever the library is open (please see hours below).  

You also are welcome to email library@kenesethisrael.org to request books.  (By clicking the link at the top of the page, you can search our collection from wherever you are.)  Through our KI Lobby Lending and Return program, you can pick up your reserved materials in the cloth bin labeled "Meyers Library IN/OUT Box" on the small table across from the security guard station whenever KI’s office is open; simply return your materials the same way.

Or, if you join us for Friday night services, we often have two carts filled with current bestsellers and new-and-noteworthy books available for check out.
