Shofar on the Roof Celebration 11:00am Sunday, September 13, 2020

Dear KI Congregants,

Selichot is here! Tune into the first of our High Holy Day Services this Saturday evening at 8:00pm as we celebrate Selichot!

Then join us on Sunday morning in our KI parking lot at 11:00am for our, Shofar on the Roof, event! Rain date Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

We are currently in the month of Elul, counting down the days until the Eve of Rosh Hashanah! Elul is a time of soul-searching and reflection in order to prepare us for the magnitude of the Days of Awe, which begins with the observance of Selichot this coming Saturday evening.

During Elul we are also called upon to hear the call of the Shofar to awaken our spirits. I cannot think of a better way for us to be spiritually together while we are physically apart! (In our own cars, wearing masks, in the parking lot & hearing the sound of the Shofar!)

In this year of Social Distancing, the changing of the Torah Covers to white and the polishing of the crowns and breastplates was completed over the summer, our delicious dessert reception and panel discussion for Selichot had to be rescheduled.

So . . . Rabbi Lance Sussman, Cantor Amy Levy, and Ross M. Levy, along a host of very talented musicians and technical people, recorded, from the Bimah, in preparation for one of the most unique and memorable High Holy Day Services you will ever attend.

Let us join as a community starting with Selichot Services; this Saturday evening in preparation for the year ahead.

Shanah Tovah,

Janice
